Moving Averages
Moving averages suffer from lag, rendering them almost useless.
The following is a 1 hour chart of GOOG on Feb 8, 2023.
Google botched a presentation of their Bard AI techology and the stock plumeted.
The red circle shows a triple moving average crossover. Note that the crossover actually occured at the 104 level, but by then (7 bars later) prices were at the 100 level. The entire move was missed because of lag!
